Practice Description:

The exceptional private General Dental practice of Dr. Christine Bloss is located in Montrose, Colorado for the last 21 years. Dr. Bloss received her Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree, in 1991 from the University of Nebraska, and continued her education with a General Practice Residency at the Veteran’s Affairs Medical Center in Lincoln, Nebraska. Throughout her career, Dr. Bloss has done hundreds of hours of Continuing Education, following the latest advances in dentistry and oral health, as well as learning about traditional, natural, and holistic therapies that can promote our good health in the least invasive or toxic manner.Dr. Bloss has been concerned for a long time with promoting health, and sees oral health as a critical part of our overall health. Early-on in her dental career, she became concerned about the toxicity of mercury in dental amalgam fillings, especially after working with patients with debilitating diseases such as Fibromyalgia, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Lyme Disease, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, and autoimmune diseases. Many of these patients have done their own research in trying to find their pathway back to wellness, and were seeking a dentist that was knowledgeable about mercury and dental sources of toxicity. Dr. Bloss is proud to be a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), an academy which trains dentists to remove mercury fillings as safely as possible, and has biannual meetings to teach and train dentists on a variety of dental toxicity issues. For more than 10 years, Dr. Bloss has been offering a protocol for “Safe Removal of Dental Amalgam Fillings” and sees patients from a large area who are seeking this service, which is not available at any other dental office in a wide geographic area of Colorado. The first time Dr. Bloss heard about the uses of Ozone in dentistry, she knew this was a service she wanted to offer to her patients! Many people are aware of the use of ozone in swimming pools and hot tubs to kill bacteria and algae without the use of harmful chemicals, but most are not aware that ozone has come to medicine and dentistry. Ozone is “energized oxygen”, created by passing a current through medical-grade oxygen. Because ozone is O3, and the only ingredient is oxygen, there is no one who is allergic to ozone. Also, because of the extra energy carried in the ozone molecule, ozone has dynamic properties:1- Ozone is bactericidal, fungicidal, virucidal, and kills parasites. It also penetrates the biofilm that these organisms live in.2- Ozone is a powerful circulatory stimulant.3- Ozone induces immunologic up-regulation (revs up our immune system.)4- Ozone reduces inflammation and promotes healing. We are pleased to be among the 2,000+ dental offices that have an ozone generator in the office. Ozone is an integral part of our dental practice since 2005. Dr. Bloss incorporates the use of ozone into daily routine dental care and it has become a new standard of care! It can be used to treat: cavities, infections, periodontal disease, root canal treatments, and soft tissue lesions.-
