The Matty Young Student Scholarship Program for IAOMT Conference Attendance was launched in 2016 with the purpose of offering interested dental students the opportunity to learn more about biological dentistry. Recipients of the scholarship attend an IAOMT conference where they are matched with an experienced mentor, participate in an introduction to biological dentistry workshop, engage in the Academy’s symposium featuring scientific lectures, and network with IAOMT member dentists and other health professionals. Funding is provided to ease the financial burden on the students for travel, lodging, and meals.

Priority is given to candidates pursuing their Doctor of Dental Surgery, Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry, or Doctor of Dental Medicine, especially those in their third or fourth year.  Scholarships may also be awarded to residents in other relevant post-graduate programs and students pursuing dental hygiene degrees.
