Dr. Taryn Gehlert’s passion for dentistry runs in her family. After years of watching her father, Dr. Richard Bowen, and grandfather, Dr. Robert Bowen, foster life-long relationships with their patients and improve their patients’ lives, Dr. Gehlert decided to pursue her career in dentistry. Before joining her father at Bowen Legacy Dental, Dr. Gehlert followed in her family's footsteps by graduating from Ohio State University with a bachelor’s degree in 2004. She then moved on to get her Master of Public Health degree in 2011 and her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2016. She is proud to carry on the Bowen family’s tradition of superb care—dedicating herself to continuing education and pursuing new advancements and innovations in dental services.Known for her warmth, professionalism, and expert skill, Dr. Gehlert is committed to providing patients with the utmost care to support their best oral health. She has a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry as it combines artistry, dentistry, and science to create aesthetically pleasing and medically superior results for patients. Inspired to help patients realize their best self, Dr. Gehlert loves the process of influencing and improving her patients’ oral health, self-confidence, and aesthetics through general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. She enjoys learning alongside her esteemed peers as a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics (AAFE), the Ohio Dental Association (ODA), American Dental Association (ADA), Central Ohio Academy of Dental Practice Administration (COADPA), and International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT).Outside of dentistry, Dr. Gehlert is a compassionate professional who enjoys giving back in her hometown of Columbus by volunteering in charitable endeavors like free dental clinics. She and her husband, Steve, enjoy life with their five children—often spending time outdoors, running, cooking, or entertaining with family and friends when she has free time.
